Cape Image Center Four Steps of Portrait Creation
- The first is an initial chat to find out what you are looking for and how to go about it. I make clothing suggestions, and select the best setting for the assignment. See our Portrait Planning Guide. A reservation retainer is paid at this time.
- During the portrait creation, I make unlimited exposures and poses, which insures great edited choices. Group photos are made a couple of ways, and then I photograph each family unit, and some singles of the kids. The portrait session fee balance is also paid at this time. - After the portrait is created, I present the images at my studio on a large high definition TV and assist you in the selection and ordering process. This way you can see each image close up and pick the best expressions. Portrait Order Form.
- Each portrait is then retouched, color balanced, and printed on professional products to last a long time. Once they are framed and on display, my images will bring daily pleasure and can be shared with others throughout time.
Portrait Packages
The creation fee is the whole process of photographing your portrait. It starts with an initial consultation, whether it is in person at our studio, or over the phone. We discuss what your main goal is for having the portrait made, and what you would like as the end product. Also, we discuss the location where we will create the portraits. Your choices are my Image Center Studio, at the beach, your home, or my water fall garden. Then we select a day that is convenient for your family and reserve a portrait session date. (There is a $100 retainer deposit to hold a portrait session date. The balance is due on the portrait day.)
During the portrait creation, I make many poses and combinations of the subjects. The large group portrait is usually the focal point. Then each family unit is made, and then I try the kids together and alone. The result is a collection of images that will give you a nice variety to select from.
The portrait viewing and ordering session is next, at the Image Center. I project all the images on a large high-definition TV screen, and present the images one by one. After narrowing the selection down to the &ldquo'best of,” I can zoom in on the faces to check expressions, make any image black and white, and show your favorites at different sizes. Then you will make your pose selections for wall décor and gift prints. I will help you to order the appropriate sizes and suggest some in black and white, if you desire. The print order is then retouched, color balanced and custom printed by our professional photo lab. They use the best papers and processing equipment to make archival, perfect prints.
There are many additional products I offer to properly present your portraits: Framing, Canvas Textured Paper, Your photos turned into Portrait Paintings, Image Collages, Framed Story Collections, Storybook Albums, Miniature Canvas with easels, Panel Frames with multiple matted images, Digital Image Frames, Black and White Art Prints.
Portrait Creation Fee
Indoor Studio Portrait Creation Fees:
Individual or Couple: $150. Group $300.
On Location Portrait Creation Fee:
Individual or Couple: $200. Group $350. (Travel is extra.)
Note: Creation fees include portrait planning, photo session, and ordering session.
Also, a $50. Print Credit is included towards your order, and is deducted from the total.
Suggested Print Packages for Large Family
Group Photo Wall Print on Canvas 18"x24" size, with 4-8"x10" size copies of the group photo. Storybook album designed with all the best images. 4-5"x7" size gift prints of different images. Package Price is $695. plus the creation fee.
Suggested Print Packages for Small Family
Group Photo Wall Print 11"x14" size, 2-8"x10" size copies of the group photo, 2-5"x7" size gift prints. Eight wallet size photos. Package Price is $225. plus the creation fee.

John and I are so pleased with our family picture, that we hung it over the mantel and put a special light on it so we can enjoy it from across the room. We just opened the framed family portrait, and it looks awesome. It came out better than we ever imaged. You truly have a talent for capturing the moment and making us all look good. (Wish those wrinkles could be permanently erased!). I am so happy we took your advice on the clothing and your beautiful beach location in Centerville.
